Hoping to film paranormal activity, three friends break into an abandoned castle, where an evil presence soon hounds them into terror and madness. Markus (Matthias Dietrich) is an anthropology student with an unusual focus: his studies are devoted to the forms of popular superstition and the phenomenon of poltergeists. Everything could remain pretty theoretical, but Markus is given the opportunity to turn gray theory into spooky practice. His friend Lukas (Henning Nöhren) plans to take a trip to a castle where there are supposedly ghosts, camera at the ready. The aim: to record paranormal activity with the camera at the ready! With Markus' girlfriend Rebecca (Liv Lisa Fries) in tow, who is only told what's in store for her during the trip, the three friends drive to a moated castle and set up camp for the night.
