Bert, a skinny kid with glasses, is starting seventh grade. Since Bert is also incredibly cool, he has naturally set himself some lofty goals: he wants to win over Leila, the coolest girl in school. Unfortunately, Leila, star of the basketball team and a yogurt commercial, is already in ninth grade. Luckily, Leila's sister Amira is in the same class as Bert, so he befriends her... and gradually causes a lot of trouble.
