Four orphaned boys live as monks in a Buddhist monastery in northeastern Myanmar. One day, the head monk has to go on a long journey from which he may never return. He leaves the children to their own devices in the seclusion. As soon as the boys are alone, mysterious and inexplicable things start to happen. The man who brought them food no longer comes, and in the distance they hear shots, voices and ghostly noises. Witazara, one of the wise men, realizes that he must protect the three other boys, because the strange events threaten to tear the veil of reality from the young monks...
