Santiago de Chile, 2005: Avi, Estefany and Cindy are 13 years old and best friends. They live with their families in “La Toma”, the largest slum on the outskirts of the Chilean capital. The girls love to go to the richer districts, stroll through the department stores and sometimes even “steal” clothes or make-up. Avi's greatest dream is to one day live in this area and leave the poverty, filth and violence of her slum behind her. While standing in front of a fancy high-rise with her friends, she has an idea. They could shimmy over the balconies and break into the apartments from there. The first successful climb spurs the girls on to regularly break into apartments and live like the rich for a few hours, enjoying the good life. Soon the press and television are reporting on the mysterious “climbing thieves” and Avi, Estefany and Cindy are celebrated as stars by their friends. However, this is annoying for the slum dwellers, who don't want “La Toma” to end up in the headlines.
