Twelve noon. Time for prayers in East and West Jerusalem and time for hummus, the national dish. Constanze Klatt, a native of Thuringia, is with her Palestinian mother-in-law to prepare a joint dinner for which guests are expected. Father Armando Pierucci gives singing lessons to nuns from the Order of St. Brigitte. A lawyer helps a Jewish Israeli woman on her way to divorce from her husband. The fact that there are pictures on social networks showing him smooching with a new girlfriend will help the woman. In Jerusalem, there is always a reason to quarrel in the air. Political and religious conflicts, everyday border issues - it's never easy to find the right answer. Many a dispute ends with casualties, and then the UN sends its neutral observers. Political dynamite, millennia-old traditions and the arduous, unplannable everyday life: On the Mount of Olives a Jewish settler argues with a Palestinian, at the Wailing Wall a 13-year-old celebrates his bar mitzvah and an American photographer chases after a Chinese movie star in the Old City.
